TATTOO ARTIST/BODY PIERCER
Darrin opened Blue Star Tattoos & Body Piercing with one goal in mind: to give the modified world a great clean studio, so they can get their body modifications done in a safe, clean environment; to carry the top brands names in the industry of body jewelry, and to educate the world about modified people. When he's not talking to people about body modification, you can find him piercing or tattooing someone.
Darrin is a long time volunteer for the APP, and a former member of the Membership Committee and Legislation Committee. He has represented the APP at the American College Health Association (ACHA), educating college nurses about body piercing and how the organization can be a resource to them. At their annual educational conference he leads round table discussions, teaches classes, mentors, and is part of the Volunteer Underground. Darrin has also written articles for the APP's quarterly magazine, The Point.
Darrin is involved with the Bay Area Piercers Group; sometimes hosting meetings for the group. He also does his civic duty as a committee member of Concord. Past President of the downtown business community, and the TSBA (Todos Santos Business Association). Darrin does business consulting, advising body modification businesses, and is also a public speaker at local events and conferences, promoting the safety of body modification. He is always willing to discuss, answer questions, and help at anytime. Darrin has worked with the Contra Costa County Health Department to educate inspectors about body modification and has an open door policy with them.
Darrin has been a proud member of the APP (Association of Professional Piercers), APT (Association of Professional Tattooists), NTA (National Tattooing Association) since 1996, and Core (Constructs of Ritual Evolution) since 2008.
Nicole Joy Miller
Established in this shared reality on January, nineteenth, nineteen seventy six. Discovered the ability to draw at five years of age. Spent just enough time in Colleges for the Arts to learn what hard work can accomplish. Was given the opportunity to tattoo in the summer of my twentieth year. Fourteen years later sold a successful tattoo shop and cast a ship west for California. I have come to California with a deep and profound respect for what I do. I live in a way that is in total accordance with producing the finest possible work. I am constantly fine tuning myself, my skills, and my art. It is my hope that my portfolio speaks well for all these things.
